Toby is just as comfortable firing up a tig welder as he is hand painting decorative surfaces. His fingerprints are on the metal sculptures atop Memorial Hall, the masonry columns at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and the plaster, wood, and decorative finishes in the Rodin Museum.
Toby brings a quiver full of offerings to Materials Conservation projects. He earned a BFA in sculpture from The University of the Arts, and then rounded out his skill set learning finish carpentry and foundry practices.
Outside of work, Toby’s two boys keep him hopping, as do the regular upgrades to his Philadelphia family home.
