Moravian Tile Fireplace

Henry C. Mercer, a leader in the American Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the 20th century, was both an avid collector and ceramics designer. He founded the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, located in Doylestown, PA, to produce decorative tiles and pottery by hand using traditional methods. Mercer’s tiles were as beautiful as they are utilitarian, and demand for them grew as they were utilized in buildings across the country.
